Living here has truly been a blessing. I’m surrounded by kind neighbors, beautiful homes, and a supportive environment that makes it feel more like family than just a place to stay.”
Through Greater Peace, Tiphany Thompson found more than just housing—she found stability, security, and opportunity. As a resident of the Jordan’s Gate community, she has been able to focus on raising her children in a safe and nurturing environment without the stress of unaffordable housing or unsafe surroundings.
Both of her children attended the Child Development Center, and her daughter has continued through the Afterschool and Summer Educational Enrichment Programs. Now in the 8th grade, she has thrived in these programs, gaining academic support, building confidence, and engaging in enriching activities that help her grow as a student and a leader.
This summer, she will take another exciting step by joining Greater Peace’s Summer Workforce Development Program — an opportunity to build real-world skills, explore future career paths, and learn the value of hard work and responsibility in a supportive setting.
“Greater Peace CDC has done so much for me and my children,” Tiphany shares. “They’ve given us a community, opportunities for growth, and a sense of hope for the future. The programs have helped both of my children. GPCDC played a pivotal role in my son’s educational foundation. He is now a proud member of the United States Air Force. My daughter has become more independent, motivated, and focused. I truly believe the foundation they are helping her build will open even more doors for her as she grows.”
With the continued support of Greater Peace CDC, Tiphany’s daughter still has access to various youth programs, college readiness resources, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities. And for Tiphany, knowing that her child is surrounded by people who care and are invested in her success makes all the difference.
Greater Peace is more than just an organization; it is a lifeline, a support system, and a constant reminder that we don’t have to walk this journey alone.
