Piersen and Brianna’s Journey with the Greater Peace Community Development Corporation
Not every organization leaves a lasting legacy in families’ lives, but the Greater Peace Community Development Corporation (GPCDC) continues to do just that—one child, one program, one opportunity at a time. For sisters Piersen and Brianna, Greater Peace CDC has been more than just a community resource—it has been a foundation of hope, growth, and transformation.
Their journey began at the Greater Peace Child Development Center, a place their family calls “a nurturing second home.” From an early age, both girls experienced a safe and encouraging learning environment where their creativity was fostered, their confidence nurtured, and their voices empowered.
“It wasn’t just about learning ABCs and 123s,” their mother shared. “It was about building self-esteem, character, and connection — things that would follow them long after they left the classroom.”
As the girls grew, so did their connection to Greater Peace CDC. Through after-school programming, leadership-building activities, and service projects, Piersen and Brianna continued to develop their identities, gain responsibility, and form lasting bonds with mentors and peers alike.
“Greater Peace always made us feel like we mattered,” Brianna recalled. “They gave us opportunities to lead, serve, and grow. That kind of support shapes who you become.”
Today, Brianna is living proof of the organization’s full-circle impact—she is now a teacher at the very same Child Development Center where her own journey began.
“To be able to pour back into the next generation is incredibly meaningful,” Brianna said. “I’m teaching in the same classrooms that shaped me. I see myself in these kids and know firsthand what a difference this environment makes.”
Meanwhile, Piersen continues to gain valuable lessons from Greater Peace in every aspect of her life. Now, Piersen is preparing to take the next step in her journey by participating in Greater Peace CDC’s Teen Summer Workforce Development Program.
“She’s excited about it,” her mother shared. “It’s another stepping stone — another way for her to gain life experience and prepare for her future.”
Through all these stages—from early childhood education to career readiness—Greater Peace has been a constant source of strength and opportunity for the family.
“The transformation I’ve seen in my daughters is incredible,” their mother said. “Greater Peace didn’t just help raise two girls. They helped shape two leaders.”
In a world where many young people face uncertainty, organizations like Greater Peace CDC serve as powerful reminders of what’s possible when children are given the support, guidance, and opportunity to thrive.
Because at Greater Peace, it’s not just about programs — it’s about people. And it’s not just about today — it’s about building a better tomorrow.
